Leaves can vary widely in width, generally narrower in soil - wider in water
Flowers are in whorls of 3 on a stalk. Both male and female flowers can be on the same stalk.
Female flowers have a bulbous green center, covered in tiny carpels. Male flowers have a group of golden yellow stamens in the center.

Found: Pond and stream edges, shallow water
Light: Full sun - Partial shade
Height: 1 - 3 feet
July - Sept bloom time
